Review of T-Mobile

T-Mobile is the brand for the Deutsche Telekom AG mobile communications subsidiaries outside Germany, used in Europe, the USA and of course in the UK. Around the world T-Mobile boast approximately 150 million subscribers, making them the seventeenth-largest mobile-phone service provider in the world in terms of subscribers and the third-largest after Vodafone and Telefónica in Europe.

Originally T-Mobile in the UK began as Mercury One2One, operated by Mercury Communications, which later became One 2 One; they were purchased by Deutsche Telekom AG in 1999 and rebranded as T-Mobile by 2002.In the UK T-Mobile offers mobile phones on both pay-as-you-go and pay-monthly contracts. Their pay-monthly packages consist of set amounts of minutes and a range of flexible boosters which customers can change on a month to month basis to suit their needs.

In 2008 the high-speed 3G and HSDPA networks of T-Mobile UK and 3 in the UK were combined to form the largest HSDPA network in the country. Then in 2010 Orange and Deutsche Telekom AG agreed to merge their UK operations, creating the largest single mobile operator, even though Orange and T-Mobile still continue as separate brands in the market, they are both run by the same parent company. The Virgin Mobile virtual network uses T-Mobile UK's network as the backbone of their service.
